Installations
Guests of Retiro dos Cavaleiros have access to a number of shared amenities for making their stay a convenient and unforgettable experience.
Please note however that all facilities located in the main building are only available to guests who are rented in that building
Kitchens
The main house has two kitchens: a large one on the ground floor, and a smaller one on the main floor. The large kitchen is only rented out as part of a full house rental and can be used to prepare meals served in the adjacent dining room. Since the kitchen does not comply with modern professional standards (and cannot, because doing so would mean removing all the beautiful wood elements), it is not suitable for large scale cooking, however. Nonetheless, it has all the appliances and facilities one may expect from a large familiy kitchen.
The smaller kitchen has basic appliances like oven, fridgidaire and coffee maker. It is available to all guests of the main house
Dining room
The dining room offers ample space at tables for easily 30 persons. It can be used for any type of food consumption ranging from breakfast to full banquets. The adjacent kitchen can be used for simple preparations, but due to missing professional standards we recommend the use external catering for large groups and hot meals.
Salon
The salon in the main house is the room that has been least changed by the various renovations and conversions. Here, guests who live in the main building can comfortably linger over a drink, chatting with each other or reading a book. In summer you can enter the upper terrace from the salon and in winter the oven is ready to heat the room to a comfortable temperature
Knight's Hall
the Knightshall is well suited for events such as seminars, concerts or other celebrations. It consists of two large rooms that are connected to each other by an open passage. You first enter the anteroom, which at approx. 50 m² offers space for setting up presentation tables or bar tables with drinks for lecture breaks. Behind it is the lecture room at 41 m² with full seating and a lectern, which receives plenty of daylight thanks to its large window front
